Syl Ivers | Jul 30 2024, 11:46am | Is it the usual route...thank you. |
Sorcha Kearney | Jul 30 2024, 1:53pm | For people who haven’t done this before, would it be possible to include some details please? Distance, elevation, terrain, a map also if available? |
Aidan Buckley | Aug 19 2024, 3:16pm | Hello, please could I check if there is a junior route for this race (i.e. for younger juniors not competing in the Trials) ? Thanks |
jp treacy | Aug 20 2024, 11:43am | As well as Under 17's & Under 20's, is the trial also for seniors? |
Tim Grummell | Aug 21 2024, 11:27am | Hi, answering afew of those questions. Syl, no this race is in a different location to the usual b&I trials (up towards Camaderry), and the u18 (up towards Scarr), this is a loop around the old Brockagh Burst route. Sorcha, the course is about 6km long, and 280m elevation gain, and there is a course map under maps in the event page. In terms of terrain, open fireroad at the start and finsh, and into open mountain up the top, with some fast grassy sections. Overall I'd describe it as fast and all very runable, with a very fast relentless downhill! Aidan, sorry there isn't scope to run a separate junior race for this, as per IMRA Junior guidelines, athletes need to be aged 14 or up to compete in the 6km distance this race is. Jp, no this race is only for u17 and u20 athletes. IMRA has several other international selections for senior athletes during the year however. Final reminder to get your entries in, and best of luck, the weather is currently looking perfect for Saturday! |
Enda Cloake | Aug 21 2024, 11:28am | Good morning JP, Senior teams do not compete at the Championships so there will be no Senior trial. Hope this helps. |
Reuben Capocci | Aug 21 2024, 12:20pm | Is full Level B kit required or rain jacket enough for Saturday ? |
Elizabeth Wheeler | Aug 22 2024, 6:53am | Hi Reuben, kit will be jacket only. |
Elizabeth Wheeler | Aug 22 2024, 8:52am | Good morning, For those racing the B&I Trial on Saturday, I hope your training has been going well and you are now taking it easy. A few things: REGISTRATION: Registration will open at 10.30 and close at 11.30 sharp for a 12 noon race start. We have 52 entries so please arrive early and get organised. MANDATORY KIT You must have a rain jacket with you at all times during the race. Failure to carry/wear this will mean disqualification. PARKING There will be parking at Brockagh Redource Centre. This is often busy on a Saturday so there is ample overflowing parking at the free Laragh park here https://maps.app.goo.gl/5QLt4syXZGci4FYUA?g_st=ic WATER Please bring your own water and bottles with you. We will have a limited amount of water at the finish line for you to fill your own bottles. We will not be distributing single plastic bottles to runners. We will have hot sausage rolls and some other post-race snacks but if you have any special dietary requirements, please bring your own. I will post all this on the Events page also and if any of you have any questions, please just ask Thanks and see you all Saturday Elizabeth |
