Linda RowdenSep 28 2024, 10:01amHi all,
The shop is now open for the Women's Night Challenge which is taking place next Friday 4th October in Kilmacanogue. Race entry is €10 and IMRA membership has been discounted to €5 for the remainder of this year. Proceeds will be donated to Bray Women's Refuge.

This is the 4th year of the Women's Night Challenge and it is always a fantastic night on the trails. As this event is to encourage women to experience running at night, the pace will be very manageable and there will be a sweeper at the back so no-one will be left behind. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and allow us enjoy the magnificent views of Bray and the coastline on the descent. Sambos, cake and post-race chats will be at the finish line.

Some of the comments/feedback from last year
'The is my first IMRA race and I loved every minute of it'
'that was my first night run and I've been running since primary school'
'I felt very safe and supported by all the men (marshalls) out on the route'
'we go every year to the women's night run'
So please sign or encourage the women in your lives to sign up.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered. We have enough now. I will email out the volunteer plan during the week.

Stephen LavelleOct 2 2024, 6:38pmFor those of us who won't be running but interested in donating should we buy an entry similar to other IMRA fundraisers/benefit runs?
Linda RowdenOct 3 2024, 1:17pmHi Steve,

Yes indeed, donations in the form of race entries from all genders are very welcome and great appreciated. Thanks for thinking of it!!

Linda RowdenOct 4 2024, 9:09amShop is closing for the Women's Night Challenge at 2pm today. Don't miss out. It's going to be a super night on the trails.
Linda RowdenOct 4 2024, 9:38amThere will be the legendary Flynn sambos and cake at the finish. What more could we ask for :):)
Linda RowdenOct 4 2024, 10:58pmA massive thank you to everyone who volunteered and took part in the 4th Women's Night Challenge. Whilst the weather did not play ball, and the views on the descent were non-existent, the atmosphere and camaraderie between runners and volunteers continue to make this a special race.
A special shout out to our Marshalls on the route who are always so encouraging and supportive. 81 were registered and 61 ran. Big thanks to the GAA club for the use of their facilities, it was nice to be dry on a wet night. Big thanks also to Amphibian King Bray for sponsoring the top three prizes who went to:
1st place: Aideen Burke
2nd place: Clare Sullivan
3rd place: Aoife Mc Kernan
Congratulations to you all.
And finally a big thank you to Angela Flynn, one of my Deputy RDs, who spent the afternoon making trays of delicious sambos, organising race equipment, co-ordinating race marking, securing the GAA club and the prizes. She made this RDs job very easy.
We will let you know the final amount donated to Bray Refuge Centre I due course.
Anna MichaelOct 5 2024, 9:13amThank you Linda, Angela and all the team of volunteers for putting on yet another wonderful race. We didn’t get the views but a gorgeous route spent with great people.
Diane McConnellOct 5 2024, 11:07amThank you for another great event. Quite unique being all women only, but very glad to balance with men and women organising and marshalling. This was my fifth IMRA and I plan many more. The only thing that went against me was my useless head torch. Couldn’t see a thing! Is there a recommendation in terms of lumen or brand or something for the next time?
Elaine CaseyOct 5 2024, 11:53amThanks to all the volunteers, not the best night to be standing around on the sugarloaf, a tad damp!
