Jim FitzharrisAug 19 2015, 3:12pmVivian,

I have volunteered for this.

If you want to run on the night, I have no problem "manning the fort" in your absence!

Cheers,

Jim.
Caroline ReidAug 19 2015, 10:37pmHi Vivian,
I've put my name down as a running volunteer and Dad will volunteer as well. Just let me know if you need anything
done before next Wednesday.
All the best
Caroline

Caitlín BentAug 21 2015, 9:09pmHi Viv, What are the chances of going to Ahern's Pub, Old Bawn Road, after the run? Seamus liked that pub because it was on his way home to Walkinstown. It's close to me too:))
Vivian O'GormanAug 21 2015, 9:30pmHi Everybody -

It gives me great pleasure to be allowed organise this race on behalf of Seamus Kilcullen RIP. He was a mountain running personality known and loved by us all and we will sadly miss him.

This race is to raise much needed funds for Seamus's favourite charity - Arc Cancer Care - and of course to have a bit of fun in doing so!!

The race night is next Wednesday 26th August at 7.30pm. The venue is The Hellfire Club.

There will be two races - a short 3k race and a longer 6k race.

Race Registration

Race registration will open at 6pm and close at 7.20pm sharp.

Entry fee is 10 Euro.

IMRA race vouchers will NOT be accepted for this race.

Also headphones are strictly NOT ALLOWED.

All monies and I mean ALL monies will go directly to Arc Cancer Care.

The Irish Mountain Running Association has very kindly agreed to take care of any expenses incurred in the running of this event.

All non IMRA runners must fill out the IMRA membership form before you proceed to collect your race number.

There will be prizes for the first male and first female in each race. There will be NO category prizes. We have plenty of spot prizes so you will still have a chance!

Prizegiving will be in Buglers Pub - Ballyboden House - Rathfarnham.

Car Parking

Car parking at this venue is very tight. Please carpool if at all possible. There is a car pooling section on the events page for this race.

Parking will be in a field only a few minutes from the race start. The charge for this is 2 Euro per car. It will be well sign posted. Please follow the marshalls instructions here.

There is NO parking at the Hellfire car park.

The results of both races will be put on the Irish Mountain Running Association website - www.imra.ie later in the week.

assign duties then...

Also all runners and volunteers don't forget to carpool...
Jean O'Neill2Aug 25 2015, 4:58pmUnfortunately I am unable to come tomorrow night. I will arrange for someone to contribute to the charity on my behalf. The race and the 'afters' definitely won't be the same without Seamus.
Sarah Ní RuaircAug 25 2015, 10:11pmIs anyone interested in car-pooling from the pub? Maybe meet at 6.15?

Vivian O'GormanAug 27 2015, 12:53amHi All,

May I give a big thank you to ALL the volunteers that helped me at this race tonight. It was a wonderful night and very enjoyable.

Thank you also to Seamus and the rest of the family for coming out and to the members of Arc Cancer Care.

The results will be posted soon.
Caoimhin MacMaolainAug 27 2015, 9:31amThanks very much to Vivian and his team for the terrific organisation last night. I thought that the course was really good, extremely well marked and marshalled and that the whole evening had a great atmosphere about it, despite the sad passing of Seamus. It was a most fitting tribute to a great and inspiring man.
Brendan LawlorAug 27 2015, 9:58amA big thank you to Vivian who stepped into the shoes of Seamus to make sure last nights ARC Charity race took place, as the man himself would have wanted. He got great help from Paul O'Grady, Ger Power, John Fitzgerald and several others in promoting and organising the race. Thanks as ever to all the volunteers and to the local man who provided the overflow parking - we sure needed it.

The exceptionally large turnout (nearly 200 competitors, and lots of faces from the past) was a tribute to how much we all loved Seamus and how much we will miss his wit, smile and charm. It was lovely for his family to come along and join in last night and we all extend our sympathy to them on his passing.

Seamus played his own part on a great evening for running with rapid fire showers, brilliant sunshine and beautiful rainbows drawing our eyes to the heavens where he surely rests now, having a pint of plain with Mick Kellet, planning their next adventure - may he rest in peace.
Kevin O'RiordanAug 28 2015, 1:44pmResults up now.

Vivian O'GormanAug 31 2015, 9:53pmHi All,

I have been asked by Mairead of Arc Cancer Care to convey to all the volunteers and runners who took part in last Wednesday evenings Hellfire Charity Race her heartfelt gratitude and thanks.

The fantastic sum of 2425 Euro was collected.

So many many thanks to everybody. Arc Cancer Care were delighted to have been a part of such a fantastic event in memory of Seamus Kilcullen.

He was a wonderful man and he will never be forgotten.
