Paul KevilleMay 24 2015, 7:51pmThanks to all the volunteers who put there name down. It looks like I have enough volunteers now. I am looking for a second first aid volunteer to come forward. Tibradden is always a busy event especially for the first aiders.
Ciara O'NeillMay 26 2015, 9:10amHi, I am planning on trying this race tomorrow as my first event with IMRA. I see under the event profile, it says that single occupancy cars will not be admitted to the car park. What is the usual set up for newbies as I don't know anybody to carpool with? Thanks in advance :-)
John J BarryMay 26 2015, 9:49amCiara,

Be at Buglers pub around 6:15 to 6:30. People will carpool from there. I'll be there around then and I give a lift / take a lift with anyone around.
Peter O'FarrellMay 26 2015, 9:55amUsually parking at or near the post race prize giving location and then loitering with intent works the trick.
The prize giving location is possibly Buglers or Johnny Foxes, as per the race instruction but no doubt that will be clarified.
Another option is to park at a safe location on the roadway outside the event carpark and job back over. Exiting Tibradden carpark, turn left (downhill), immediately come to T junction, turn left and park on the left hand side where the road widens. It's a few minute jog back to registration.
Ciara MoffittMay 26 2015, 10:51amGreat, thanks for the info! One more question - what time does the early start go and would I be there in time if I try to carpool from buglers? I'm guessing it's just a 10 minute or so head start?
Paul KevilleMay 26 2015, 10:57amThanks to all the volunteers for coming through for this race. Could i ask volunteers to be at Tibradden at 6:15pm. Car pooling is available for all in the back of Buglers pub. There is a grassy paddock in the back of the car park to the left as you enter. They have asked us to us this. Please car pooling for this event. Parking may be limited and we may have to restrict single occupancy cars from entering the car park.

Prize giving will be back in buglers pub where there will be spot prizes also. The usual rules apply for this race. Make sure you have your jacket with you and no headphones. I don't want to disqualify anyone for not having there jacket etc.

If there is any further announcements i will post here in the forum.

Pól Ó MurchúMay 27 2015, 9:56amHi, Car up on carpool. Leaving from Ballsbridge around 5-5:30ish. Drop me a mail pol.omurchu@imra.ie if anyone looking to hop in with me. Will not be heading back this way though but can leave somewhere off M50 if that suits.
Pól Ó MurchúMay 27 2015, 2:05pmSorry change of plan. I'm actully in Sandyford this afternoon so can meet anyone around there if this suits anyone?
Andrew HanneyMay 27 2015, 3:35pmAnyone car pooling from Johnny Foxes?
Mike WhitfieldMay 27 2015, 10:28pmThank you to all the organisers and volunteers for a brilliant run in the hills this evening. What a stunning time to be out! Very enjoyable.
James DraperMay 27 2015, 11:22pmThanks to all of the organisers for a great event. I think that the lady listed as being fourth in the results was an early starter. Thanks.
Paul KevilleMay 27 2015, 11:51pmResults have been posted. Thanks for the efficiency to pol and karen on laptop.

Thanks to all the volunteers who made the event run very smoothly. It was a very eventful race. With at least 8 people attending first aid. both first aiders rachel and james were very busy that martina had to assist also.

We had one mountain rescue callout. I hope your injury isn't too bad alice and you recover well. Thanks to all who stopped and gave up there race to help her of the mountain. It is appreciated especially Brendan Lawlor, aidan magee and the others who stopped to help.Gavan doherty and if i missed anyone sorry but thanks again.

There was one disqualification for not having a jacket. Please read the website instructions of each race for things like jackets, early starts, directions etc. Things like this can be avoided.

Also thanks to ian o kane who works for curious wines who supplied the wine for the spot prizes. Ian a few race directors might be contacting you to supply the wine for future events.

Regina KellyMay 27 2015, 11:54pmWell done for having the results up so early! Thanks to all the helpers on the night it was a really enjoyable evening.
Miriam MaherMay 28 2015, 7:54amThanks Paul, Karen and the rest of the volunteers for a very well organised race. My son's first - not his last, great experience for him. I was one of the night's many casualties - big thanks to Lorcan for keeping me company on the way back from two rock as I wobbled my way down moaning about the side of my head! Great well soon Alice - rotten fall.
Ronan HickeyMay 28 2015, 9:08amReally sorry to hear about your fall Alice. Tibradden always seems to require sacrifices. Loved the race, thanks to all the volunteers, especially the marshals. It must have been pretty cold to stand still for so long out there.
Jim FitzharrisMay 28 2015, 9:20amCongrats to Paul and his team for a well-organised race.

My result is not correct (I have emailed Pol directly).

I was a self-timed early starter and did not complete the full route so will go into the short course category.

Apologies to the other M60s who must be scratching their heads at my apparently remarkable return to form!

Cheers,

Jim.
Brendan LawlorMay 28 2015, 9:28amWell done and thank you to Paul and all his volunteers for last nights race. Tibradden continued with its fearsome tradition of being IMRA's Stalingrad. A big thank you to my mountain rescue colleagues who arrived in numbers to get Alice off the mountain at Three Rock - thanks also to Greg Byrne, Gavin Doherty and Mark(I think) the doctor for their help. Get well soon Alice

I have no wish to open the jackets can of worms again but it needs to be stated for the record that both myself and Alice would have been in a fairly serious way last night waiting for the rescue lads to show up if we hadn't had jackets on us.It was windy and cold up there. This was the third incident in four weeks where injured runners had to be escorted back to the start and in each case the runners and the rescuers were very glad of their jackets.

See you all next week at Scarr
Miriam MaherMay 28 2015, 9:53amWell said Brendan and worth stating.
David Kelly70May 28 2015, 10:05amThanks to everyone for a great race. It looked like a chilly evening to be sitting or standing around so well done to all the volunteers.

After a fight to the death sprint finish, Tom O' Sullivan pipped me at the post so I'll email Pól to ensure Tom gets his rightful result.
Regina KellyMay 28 2015, 10:38amI'm pretty sure Emma Hand was first woman. Either that or Niamh Carton has been doing some serious training.
Jim FitzharrisMay 28 2015, 10:59amI walked a lot of the course as part of my "race" and Emma Hand was clearly the female leader. The other lady must have done an early start.

Cheers,

Jim.
Brían O'MearaMay 28 2015, 11:42amThanks to the first aid volunteers for their ministrations night.
Brían O'MearaMay 28 2015, 11:44amlast night
Lorcan FarrellMay 28 2015, 12:00pmI felt like I struggled the whole way around the course last night. Its a place I regularly go walking and running but whatever was up with my body, it just didn't want to run!

Miriam, absolutely no worries, between the two of us we managed to hobble down, hope you're not in too much pain today!

Hope everyone recovers from their exploits by next Wednesday! Onwards!
Andrew HanneyMay 28 2015, 12:19pmThank you to all the organisers and volunteers for a great race. I hope all the injured runners recover well.
Thanks to James Higgins for the lift from and back to Buglers, much appreciated.
Ray LinnMay 28 2015, 12:45pmI'd like to record a personal thanks to the first aiders last night. They were under great pressure and the attention I received was superb. Very special thanks to Rachel and James who were incredibly attentive. I've a few cut and bruises and a broken nose - could have been worse. Thanks again folks.
Paul KevilleMay 28 2015, 12:59pmLost property from last night. I have a jacket handed in to me. One of the inov8 jackets from the leinster league prizes last year. I think it belongs to alice clancy. Drop me an email at paul.keville@yahoo.com and I'll arrange to get it back to you.
Graham K. BusheMay 28 2015, 1:58pmI'd like to add my bit in thanking all the volunteers and especially the busy First Aiders as I too joined the fallen. At one point it seemed like everyone had cut, grazed or bruised something.

I was thinking of calling it Tibradden Bad-Knee-Queue :)

These runs are becoming a family event as my youngest son had his first experience last night following his brothers enjoyment of all his outings to date.
Until next week...
Gareth LittleMay 28 2015, 3:52pm@ Ray Linn, can you please drop me a mail with your email address? Thanks

Ciaran O'MalleyMay 28 2015, 4:55pmWell done all! 'twas a rough one I'm paying for it today. Lost a green jacket wrapped in black insulating tape if anybody saw it!

Liam CannonMay 28 2015, 6:07pmAnother big thanks to the first aid folks for fixing me up after yesterday's race.

Really enjoyable evening and a great turnout. Hope to make it to Scarr next week.
Alice ClancyJun 9 2015, 7:22pmHi all, don't know if this is the right place for it, but I wanted to say a very big and sincere thank you to everyone who helped me two weeks ago!!! Gavan and Aidan, thanks for stopping your race and helping me down- and everyone else who stopped to give me clothes and jellies and support!!!Brendan deserves a special 'imra rescuer of the year award' I think for co-ordinating the rescue and the mountain rescue response was incredible!!!!Greg thanks for the change of attire! It came on very useful waiting in a&e! Anne thank you for the use of your ambulance and good company in a&e!!!!
Thanks also to everyone who's emailed and texted- makes me want to get better and get back out soon!
I'm home from hospital now and on the mend, and am now composed of 5% titanium so watch out next year, this just might give me the edge!!!! Hope Leinster League goes really well for you all now that Tibradden has taken its human sacrifice!!!!
Jason DowlingJun 9 2015, 8:46pmGreat to hear that you're in the recovery mode now and hopefully it won't be too long 'til you're back out running again. Best of luck..
Karen DevenneyJun 9 2015, 11:44pmAlice, glad to hear you're recovering well & planning your bionic comeback! Keep smiling & hope to see you very soon:-)
