Route Description:

Womens and Masters men 50 & over marathon on Saturday, Senior men on Sunday.

Getting There:

Interlaken, Switzerland. Travel from Geneva.

Categories: Senior men and senior women

Selection basis: Open individual entry and international teams. Wicklow Way Trail and Ultra races and 2011/2012 form. For selection, men are expected to be capable of running a road marathon in under 2 hours 40 minutes and women in under 3 hours 10 minutes. All selection is subject to the athlete being capable of finishing within 15% of the international race winners times. Only athletes who meet the criteria will be selected this means that full teams may not be sent. Selected athletes should be registered with Athletics Ireland.

Notes:

On flat roads around Interlaken for 25 km then it climbs for second half with steepest part near the end. The race passes through lots of villages with feeding stations (drinks and gels). Track quality is very good.
