Route Description:

Route map for IMRA Sliabhriadh Mountain Race 2025 by IMRA Munster on plotaroute.com

Starting across the road from the community centre, the first 0.5 km takes you past an old lime kiln, over a stile into a field, over another stile and down a few steps into a hollow, up a few steps back out of the hollow, and into the trees before emerging on the forestry fire road.

Follow the fire road to its end point at about 1.7km and turn right to take a narrow path up to the trig pillar and communications mast at the summit of Slievereagh at about 3k. Then down to turbines, up down around and all that in 15k no way.

Getting There:
***PLEASE TAKE NOTE***Registration and race start is in 'Davy's Cottage' directly opposite Ballinvreena Community Hall, between Kilfinnane and Garryspillane.

Please make every effort to carpool to the race as the parking is limited and the hall will be in use by the local community on the night also.

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Current Volunteers

Please login to myIMRA to volunteer to help at this event. You should aim to volunteer at least once for every 10 events that you run.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
