Organisers Instructions:
Start: Ballinastoe Wood, Gr. O 196079 Leinster League 12 The second last race of this summer’s league will take place on Ballinastoe on Wednesday at 7.30. Race twelve is traditionally the longest of the lot, and I have been informed by the course setter that this new route will be quite challenging. It will be about half a kilometre longer than the advertised 12km and will involve running on forest tracks, rough paths and single file routes through the tree (all marked). The winning time for elite runners is expected to be about 60 minutes. Any runner fearing they may take too long may get early start from 7.00. Registration and parking will be in Ballinastoe Wood car park. Again parking is quite limited and full cars only should travel out from Enniskerry or Kilmacanogue. Since prizegiving is at the Powerscourt Arms, the carpark for the pub would be an excellent place to leave cars when carpooling. Signs to Ballinastoe will be posted from the third Djouce car park (Maulin Race). Ballinastoe is used extensively for orienteering and mountain biking and permission from the owners (Coillte) for its continued use is dependant on no local objections, so please don’t block any entrances in the area.
Prizegiving Location:
Powerscourt Arms - Enniskerry

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
