Getting There:
https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2298360?units=km
Organisers Instructions:
ATTENTION: ONLY TEAM CAPTAINS ARE TO REGISTER ON THE SITE.
Please note IMRA policy of no refunds or transfers to registered runners. (This does not include team members)
This is the relay version of the Coast to Coast
We encourage teams and clubs to enter.
You run as much as you wish, then hand the tracker over to the next member of your team.
Sign-in, kit check and tracker attaching will be on the promenade from 23:00 on Friday night, June 21st. The clock starts on the prom in Bray, Wicklow at the stroke of midnight (across from the Strand Hotel akin to the original Head to Head adventure many moons ago) and the clock stops on Bray Head (Tower) Valentina Island Kerry.
From the prom, it’s up to the Cross on Bray Head, down to slip across the Greystones Road heading for the N11 flyover near the Glenview Hotel. Up Red Lane for Bray Commons and you are away off to meet the Wicklow Way off the back of Djouce Mt. for Clonegal, Co. Carlow.
Then Follow… The South Leinster Way 85km
Then Follow… The East Munster Way 61km
Then Follow… The Blackwater (Avondhu) Way 86km
Then continue… The Blackwater (Duhallow) Way 52km
Then walk :) to Killarney to meet.. The Kerry Way (to Portmagee) 89km
And over to Valentina Island and FINISH - whoop whoop - job done and dusted!
Details on how to enter will be similar to the Wicklow Way Relay. The captain of the team will be the one to register a team. It is up to you how many you wish to have on your team but it should not be more than 15.
The captain can switch runners in or out due to injury etc. There won’t be any checkpoints along the route as such. With the event being tracked, we’ll be keeping an eye on all participants safety remotely. Any major off route errors will bring on a phone call from one of the race directors.
All teams must be self sufficient during the entire race.
The route is the same as the solo route. Runners can have pacers if they wish. ALL RUNNERS MUST BE 2024 IMRA MEMBERS.
The limit of 30 is the amount of Teams allowed.
Volunteers (Non-Running)
You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize
Volunteers (Running)
Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of
people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful,
volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
