Route Description:
Participants will be bussed to the race start at Baile Breac (52.21474699073746, -10.292630103792941). - Commence 4km climb of Cnoc Bréanainn/Mount Brandon, following the stations of the cross/white markers / red+yellow IMRA flags. - After summiting Mt Brandon the route veers south, dropping to a stone wall called Claí Bharra an Ghéaráin. Follow this wall until you reach the twin peaks of Garrán Ceoil and An Géarán. A steep descent from here across boggy terrain to the saddle of Mullach Bhéal, and another steep climb. Cross more boggy terrain on The Scraig, followed by a descent to the carpark at the top of the Connor Pass. - Here you will cross the main road, and veer off the mountain road to take up a grassy track through the valley, across the main road again, and a final few kms of track/tarmac to the the best race finish imaginable in Paul Geaney's Pub. **Please note that the route crosses a very busy tourist road (The Connor Pass) twice, once at the saddle and again towards the bottom, due care is needed. The route will be marked with flags. Due to exposed airy ridges, the ability to navigate independently in zero visibility conditions on steep open ground is required.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
