Route Description:

Route map for IMRA Galtee Challenge Duo Race 2024 by IMRA Munster on plotaroute.com

Getting There:
Put "King's Yard" into your Google Maps and you'll get there. Obviously you need to choose "King's Yard, Kilbehenny" and not "King's Yard, London" or you will probably not make the race start time.
If you don't have Google Maps then head towards Mitchelstown, head along the R369 towards Kilbehenny, you will see brown signs for King's Yard on the R369. Keep following these signs until you reach King's Yard.
Organisers Instructions:
THIS IS IMRA MUNSTERS FIRST “2UP” EVENT !
Anyone signing up for this great mountain challenge must have a running partner to run with. For the nature of the event as a Duo, both runners must stay together at all times. You may only cross the finish line with your running buddy.
The pairs will be given trackers on the morning - 1 tracker per pair.
Both runners must enter the race as you would for any other IMRA race. You must then email the RD once both runners have registered, giving the names of the two runners. Email details will be on the Forum thread for this event.
The course is very challenging with a lot of ascent and decent. The Duo aspect will help with morale and also for safety. We look forward to this epic morning out on the hills, with a twist. This course is more challenging than last year's race so don't say we didn't warn you!
Prizes will be as follows:
Ladies Teams - 1st & 2nd place
Mens Teams - 1st & 2nd place
Mixed Teams - 1st & 2nd place
STRICT RULES APPLY TO MANDATORY KIT
There will be plenty of refreshments and beer afterwards. There are showers and toilets available in King's Yard

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
