From M1 junction 18 follow signs to Carlingford. Start/finish is in the village, at the church on Dundalk Road. Please park considerately along the roadside.
Organisers Instructions:
The race will start and finish at St. Michaels Church at the following location - https://maps.app.goo.gl/ggEo9RG4gFxNmEqc8 Please note there is strictly no parking in the church carpark. There will be parking available in St. Oliver’s Primary School (beside the Foy Centre ) just 100m away from the start at the following location - https://maps.app.goo.gl/Bjhrd6nrzSG8orZz5. There is also plenty of public parking available in Carlingford within walking distance of the start/finish. Carlingford will be busy this Saturday as there are sheep sales on and juvenile rugby training recommences at the Foy Centre this weekend also. Please allow extra time to park and register. Registration will be outside the school carpark from 10:45-11:30am. Early start option available from 11am, please request at registration. The race route is from St Michael's Church Carlingford to Fox's Rock and back. Refer to the race map. There will be a short marked section for a few hundred metres up tarmac roads and a lane (purple line on map). The marking will end when you emerge from the lane through a little gate onto the open land. From here it's free route choice to Slieve Foye (point A on the map), then to Fox's Rock (point B). Return via Slieve Foye summit (mandatory to visit this summit on the way out and back), to pick up the marked section again and return to the finish. There will be marshals on the 2 summits. This route involves significant open mountain navigation and rough ground. It is NOT SUITABLE for beginners, juniors or those who are not competent navigators. Please ensure that you have the mandatory kit for the race – this is listed on the event details page. Please note that GPS navigation is NOT allowed for this race as it is part of the Leinster Championships. A short course option is available. Request at registration. Short course starts/finishes at same location as above and competitors will follow the normal race route to the summit of Slieve Foye where they will turn and return to finish. All competitors, and particularly those who have not competed this year already, should READ the REGISTRATION GUIDELINES - https://www.imra.ie/users/myimraselecttype/ We are NO longer accepting MONEY at races.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
