- 1/2 Marathon run thorugh Ballyhoura Country in the middle of the night on a fully marked route
- Organisers Instructions:
- This years Moonlight Half Marathon will start from Scoil Pol in Kilfinnane at 10pm. The challenge will follow a new route, no busses are required. We hope for a full moon clear night. It falls one night out from a full moon! Race entry is €40 online. Moonlight Challenge Tee Shirts can be collected at registration. ****Please note : No transfers or Refunds. Entry will be €50 and will include fully marked route and aid stations. On finishing , challengers can enjoy hot showers and Breakfast roll with tea/coffee. Mandatory Kit: High Visibility Top (to be worn at all times) along with a flashing rearlight on bag/jacket. The High Visibility MUST be visible at all times so if you are wearing a raincoat or pack it should be placed over that.!!!! No deviation from this folks, if not compliant, no race start. Waterproof jacket, gloves, headwear, headtorch and spare batteries, bottle with min 250ml capacity, foil blanket and mobile phone with event organizers number (given on night). Volunteers (Non-Running)
You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize
Volunteers (Running)
Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
