Many thanks to all who turned up tonight for the annual Goal relay. It was a lovely sunny evening when we first arrived at Killeny Hill but as the sun went down, it soon got quite chilly! However, a quick run around the 2.5km course soon warmed everyone up.

It was an exciting race with the lead changing hands throughout the race. First home in leg1 was Cormac O'Ceallaigh with the rest of the runners not for behind. Leg 2 changed everything around again with Eoin Syron having the fastest run of the evening - the only person to go under 11 minutes on the night. However, it was team 18's Niall McAlindon who emerged first at the end of leg 2 to hand over to Sile Smith. Sile run a very composed race to maintain to the lead for overall victory for team 18 in a time of 37 minutes 14 seconds. The other teams had a great battle for runners up, with team 14 coming 2nd in 38 minutes 10 seconds, just beating in a sprint finish team 15 in a time of 38 minutes 12 seconds. Well done to all!

The night was all about fund raising for Goal, and over ?800 was raised on the night - thanks to for contributing.

Thanks also to all who helped out on the night - Hazel and Mick for marking the course, Brendan for helping at registration and Greg, Rachel and Cormac with their help at the finish.

Onwards to Bray!
