That was class. Top notch pure IMRA Wednesday goodness from start to finish. Parking in a field, smiling efficient registration, loads of sunshine and a brilliant route. Running down that grassy bank in the dry is what smiles are made of. It warms my heart to run up and down an actual mountain when hill-running. Fireroads are a necessary evil..

Great racing also. It's really competitive around my go (I am sure it's really competitive around everyone's go :) ) and they was constant attacking and over-taking and being passed and passing the whole way up the hill. Unfortunately for me on the descent lads seemed to just pass me and not come back but that's just racing.

I must try orienteering again, Colm Moran had a very good descent and picked up many places.

Great to see the bould Cormac Conroy back on the hills, bringing the next generation out to experience the sometimes brutal but mostly exhilarating hill running.

Great race last night thanks to the crew at hand got there super early cause of the cap on numbers I think it got everyone scared that they’d miss out maybe...
So we had time to summit djouce on our warm up:))
Lots of flys at the start so we were all keen to get going so s.m got us going pretty quickly ...... so off we go thankfully the start pace was slower then last weeks scalp mind you Martin Frances still bombs off every race to tire us out:)) Deirmid (spelt wrong no doubt)Brian and ruairi took off and there was a big group of us behind I wasn’t sure how the clockwise route would go but it was a good tough climb more r less to the board walk and more easier to the summit from this side of djouce so there was lots of taking and over taking ...Peter past me out on the boards and a few others but keep up behind them just about Luke passed me out just before top of djouce but I passed him on the way down and a few others ...at the bottom turn right Mr John bell went past me and some other guy I can’t remember name of sorry so we lashed along the Wicklow way till the left turn down the way we used to come up which I was hoping to catch Brian f.and co but I’m going to blam my stitch which I was trying to get rid of:(
I was really looking forward to this down hill section which back in the day we could go up and down the same way so passed back John and no namewho i nearly tripped up by accident sorry...but couldn’t hold on to them entering the forest behind those guys I said to myself try not to be passed by anyone on the fire road this is the only bit of the race i don’t like....
So I pushed hard from the top I could feel someone on my case so I keep pushing but unfortunately Graham and super well done to him he piped me to close to the finish he tired last year but didn’t do it so he could did this year ...
Well done too Deirmid Ruairi and Brian ....
