Paul DeaneJan 10 2015, 10:21pmHi Folks, this event is a 7km route through forest trails in Castlefreke outside Clonakilty and also includes 1km of a beach run. The route is relatively flat with one climb (100m)

We have plenty of volunteers and marshals so come along and try it out. Course Description and Directions are below:

The race starts at the forest barrier in the car park and follows the forest trail up towards an old ‘Wart Well’. The trail then descends through the woods and follows a route to an old lodge. From here we take the Lake Walk through the woods which brings us to the Sand Dunes and on to beautiful Long Strand. From here runners can choose their own path through a 1km beach run and exit Long Strand and climb up to the High Cross. From here it is a gentle decent to the forest barrier and Finish Line. The distance is approximately 7km and the grade is relatively easy.

Directions
Take the N71 west from Clonakilty, travel 7 km and take a left on the R598 to Rathbarry village.Take a right at the Lodge, travel 300meters and take a right into the car park. The race location will be signposted on the day. Full Direction on the following web site

Conor MurphyJan 12 2015, 3:17pmDamn.

Was looking forward to this but just realised it clashes with a road race near Coolea that I kinda promised to go on, charity, know the family involved etc. (in fact, sent you a link to it on FB today Paul!). Hope it goes well, would be great to see a few IMRA outings in West Cork, plenty of trails and mountains around Beara, Sheeps Head, Mizen Head etc.
