The lap is around 4500m. The first 250m is uphill on a ski slope at 14%. This is followed by a downhill section of around 2500m on a wide mountain path. This can be split into four sections: 200m at -10%; 400m at -20%; 200m flat; and 1700m at -10%.

This is followed by 1750m uphill which is mostly on a steep grass ski slope The first section is 900m at +13%, followed by a descent for 100m at -20%, and 750m at +18%. The last uphill section of 500m is on a forest path. . Recent heavy rain may mean some parts of the climb are muddy so take note that trail shoes with grip may be needed.

Krynica-Zdroj, Cracow, Poland. Krynica-Zdroj is situated 150 km from Cracow (around 150 minutes by road or train).

Teams: Men (6 to run / 4 to score), women & junior men (4/3), junior women (3/2)

Selection basis: Selection is based on trial race and mountain running and cross-country/road performances in 2012/2013. All selection is subject to the athlete being capable of finishing within 5% of the trial winners time and 10% of the international race winners times. Only athletes who meet the criteria will be selected this means that full teams may not be sent. Selected athletes should be registered with Athletics Ireland. We will NOT be sending four full teams.
