ROUTE DESCRIPTION: Similar route to last year. The route is clockwise, i.e. up via the Brockagh Forrest, but unlike last year the route won't enter the open mountain at 'elbow' gate , but continue on further until the end of fire road, until Marshal. Here you will take a sharp right and enter the open mountain. A lovely snappy sheep trail ascent will bring you to 'shoulder' cairn on the Eastern spur of Brockagh. At 'shoulder' cairn veer left and head for summit Marshal. Descend the same section from summit back to 'shoulder' cairn and continue on STRAIGHT down the obvious mountain trail in a South East direction as per the revised 'Maps' tab.

Early start is at 7pm. This is normally only for runners who are generally >160% time of winner. If you are unsure if you should do the early start just ask at the Reg desk.

The junior/ short course is out and back and follow the main route and turns around after c.3k at fireroad crossroads; where a marshal will be placed. it will start at approx. 7.40pm.

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
