Route Description:

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions the route has been changed from last years point to point to a loop of the Nagles starting and finishing in Killavullen(last years finish).

Like last year it's a good mix of mainly single track and fire road. You will have to go to the mast on both the outward and inward parts of the loop.

There will be good sections of technical single track so trail shoes are a must.

The course will be marked, easy to follow and have marshals in several locations where outward and inward sections meet to give you directions – see link HERE for route map

Getting There:

The race takes place just outside Killavullen Co. Cork, just past the new cemetery on the road to Ballyhooly at the main entrance to the Killavullen walking loop.

Organisers Instructions:

This race is open to all IMRA members and costs 30 euro.

Parking: Unfortunately due to Covid 19 restrictions we now cannot use the GAA club to park so you will need to park in the village. Please be mindful of the village residents and park sensibly. The nearest place to the start/finish line you are permitted to park at is outside the cemetery and it may be possible to park around the church. DO NOT park on the road beyond the cemetery or at the start/finish line as this will be used for race headquarters and the race director/first aiders cars. It would be advisable to get ready at your car and then jog/walk to registration with all you race gear.

Covid 19: At registration masks/buffs must be worn. At the race start they must also be worn for the first 200m or until the field spreads out sufficiently. Once you are finished we ask you don't stay around race headquarters if possible. Take away food will be provided to have in your car. We ask all race goers to please act responsibly before, during and after the race.

Under IMRA rules for competitor's safety, it is mandatory to bring and carry a jacket that is shower and wind proof for the entire race and also a working charged mobile phone. Any competitor seen not carrying or wearing their jacket at any stage in the race will be disqualified. There are no exceptions to this rule!

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
