Route Description:
Curragh Woods is a firm favourite of many locals for the variety of trail it offers within such a small distance.

Adult Course: This year’s course is no different to previous years except for the inclusion of a slight 2km ‘detour’ midway. This should stretch the runners out a bit more and includes a scenic (and technical) riverside section before the course re-joins the route from previous years. Expect a good climb (or two), some decent mud, and a fast finish back down the fire road to the car park. A decent pair of trail shoes are strongly recommended here.

Junior Course: The Junior Race begins along the same fire-road climb as the adults and drops down onto the usual technical path. Before descending to the bridge, however, it takes a shortcut back onto the fire road before finishing on a fast decent to the finish. Approximately 2.5km in distance and 50m in climb.

Kiddies Course: This will be catered for on the day and includes a short climb and return along the main fire-road at the start.

Getting There:
From Cork, take the N25 east toward Midleton. Take the Midleton off-ramp through the Knockgriffin Industrial Estate (and bypass the centre of Midleton). Take a left onto the R626 and head 3km northwest to the main Curragh Woods car park on your left.

From Tipperary/Limerick, take the M8 south toward Cork and take the fist Watergrasshill off-ramp. Go straight through the roundabout and the very first left toward Leamlara. At the shrine in Leamlara take the left to Midleton and Lisgoold. In Lisgoold take the R626 south toward Midleton and travel 4.5km before the Curragh Woods car park on your right.

Organisers Instructions:
This race is open to all and the cost is €5. There is no online pre-registration available. Please arrive at least 30 mins before race start time to give time for race registration.

Reg from 6:45pm-7:45pm at Curragh Woods carpark.

ATTN: Carpooling to the race from the Water Rock Gold Course (3min drive) is strongly advised as there is limited parking at the Woods carpark.

If you have already run an IMRA race this year, bring the race number given to you at that race as it is valid for the full year.

However, if this is your first IMRA race this year, you must purchase yearly IMRA membership for €10 per person. Please download the membership form, and fill it out beforehand to speed up registration (they will be available on the day too). You will then be given a race number that is used for other IMRA races this year.

Under IMRA rules for competitors safety, it is mandatory to bring and carry a jacket that is shower and wind proof for the entire race. Any competitor seen not carrying or wearing their jacket at any stage in the race will be disqualified. There are no exceptions to this rule!

Volunteers (Non-Running)

You need to have done 2 non-running volunteer roles in a calendar year to qualify for end of year prize

Volunteers (Running)

Check with race director if they have a need for people volunteering and running. Race directors need a minimum number of people available throughout the race to make the race work so non-running volunteers are preferable. While it can be helpful, volunteering in a volunteer and race capacity does not count towards qualifying for end of year prize
